Dual boot Debian/Windows question
It's just not compatable with some software I need, so until I get some time to figure out how to dual-boot, I'm stuck with Windows. Just to end my os-talk, I can tell you that these kinds of offers are quite the norm in free software circles. I help you, you help someone else, someone else helps me.

Then modify the WinXP single-boot boot.ini file so that it will dual-boot. (Since it's already dual-booting, you can leave boot.ini as it is now. samba question *Solved*
However, since that directory is a "system" directory, it'll probably take some effort on your part to convince Windows to let you move/rename/mount the directory as necessary while doing this task (at least, that was the situation for me with the "Program Files" directory when I did it once).

Boot Question
Win95 overwrites bootsect.dos when it installs and the orginal version is needed to add a DOS boot option to the NT boot.ini file. After Win95 is installed just rename the new bootsect.dos to bootsect.w40 and copy the saved orginal version back to bootsect.dos. Then edit boot.ini (hidden in your c:\ directory).

Boot to GUI Question
It's
perfectly acceptable, and a lot easier to manage, if all your secondary distros have their own /boot directory, probably not a separate partition. but of course, if you have to do that, you can easily rename the copied kernel to something unique, if for some reason it isn't already uniquely named.

Does that make sense or will the BIOS rename them exactly the same in both?
